Hit List 2021-2022 Agreement

Congratulations! You have been accepted to be a part of Hit List, a teen hip hop competitive team.

Being a part of a competition team requires a lot of hard work, time, and dedication from all dancers, directors, and parents. We hope that you are ready to join us on this adventure for a successful and exciting season.

AGREEMENTS

If at any time, any of these agreements are broken, the dancer and parent will receive notice by verbal/written warning depending on the situation. If more than one of these agreements is broken within a short period of time from each other, the dancer will be put on a probationary period, which may lead them to be ineligible to perform/compete. Progression and improvement may get a dancer out of this probation.

REHEARSAL/CLASSES

  1. Be punctual:

    • Arrive to all classes, rehearsals, workshops, performances, and competitions on time.

    • You must notify the Admin Coordinator (Faith) via email if you will be missing rehearsal at least 2 days prior, unless it is an emergency. Notifications in hallway passing are not acceptable. In cases of emergency, please call the studio.

    • Attend your rehearsals and follow EDS class guidelines, protocols, and etiquette.

    • Turn in all fees on time when asked to do so.

  2. Rehearsal Schedule starting the week of September 6, 2022.

    • Sundays 9:00am - 1:00pm

    • Extra rehearsals will be scheduled depending on the progress of the routine and the amount of work the team puts into regular rehearsals.

  3. Technique Classes:

    • Each Dancer will be required to take 1 additional technique class during the week.. If a Dancer is noticeably falling behind in their hip-hop technique, they will lose the privilege of being staged into the set.

    • Required classes

      • Tuesdays 7:30pm Int/Adv Pop Dance w/Marc
        OR

      • Thursdays 8:00pm Beg Pop Dance w/Marc

      • There are additional classes on the schedule that will be helpful in the Dancer’s training. Please see us for additional recommendations.

    • Taking class is a part of training and will help you improve as a dancer, therefore this season it will be required.

  4. We will enroll all dancers into MindBody once you have turned in your signed agreement, but it is your responsibility to login to input your information such as credit card information, etc.

  5. All Dancers must be aware of studio business hours. If they would like to practice at the studio outside of their rehearsal hours, they must ask the front desk first and confirm that there is space available.

    • After rehearsals are over, all Dancers must be picked up from practice at the scheduled end time of practice. If there is a conflict with rides or the bus schedule, please let me know or have your Dancer let me know so we can prep accordingly. We completely understand that things come up and life happens, so please give us a call if this is the case. We want to make sure that your Dancers are staying safe and that our staff is able to close, clean, and lock up the studio accordingly.

COMMITMENT/MORALE

Being a part of Hit List, you must be ready to be committed to rehearsals, training, performances, competitions, socials, events, and each other. You are now a representative of this team AND Elements Dance Space. Please be respectable and good representatives of not only the team and the studio, but of yourselves.

  1. Social networking sites: Refrain from any bad-mouthing, cursing, anything negative about yourselves, your team, and each other in and out of classes, competitions, and on online websites. Keep all personal drama off the internet, and out of the studio. BOTTOM LINE: NO DRAMA.  Dancers will be dismissed immediately. No refunds will be given.

  2. Classes: You are a big representation of the studio, so when you are in class, be respectful to all students and the instructors. You will want guest instructors to remember your team, especially when you’re at competition.

  3. Grades: A competition team requires a lot of commitment, but we also need to make sure that you are not falling behind in your studies. All dancers must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0 and no F’s on your report cards.

Any dancer that fails to maintain good grades will not be eligible to perform. You must attend rehearsals and competitions and “not being able to go because you need to catch up on homework” is unacceptable.

FEES AND TUITION

ADDITIONAL FEES

  • Costumes

  • Competition Fees

  • Team Jacket/Sweater

**A credit card must be saved on file regardless of the tuition arrangement made with the front desk. All tuition will be billed to the card on file monthly. If you need to change the card on file throughout the year, please let Samantha know.

Misc fees that will be incurred during the year include competition fees, team warm up jacket/sweater, costumes, etc. Admin Director will give a minimum of 1 week notice when fees are due.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parent involvement is required. We understand that your schedule may not work with ours. It is every Dancer’s responsibility to relay the message from director to parent. Directors will send emails often regarding information about the studio, team, performances, competitions, etc. Please stay up to date on all information.

MISCELLANEOUS

All Dancers must download the GroupMe app on their phone. Please make sure that you have provided your Dancers phone number so we can add them to our group chat. This is where we will send reminders and important information regarding choreography, rehearsals, etc.

If you are NOT ready to perform, directors have the right to pull you out of a section or not cast you in a routine/performance. It is up to you if you want to perform. Do well and work hard if you want to share the stage with everyone else.

It is important for the Dancers to understand the importance of taking care of their bodies for their health and well-being. Eat nutritiously. Stay healthy. Use proper technique.  We offer classes in stretch, strength, and Pilates to ensure that our Dancers have the opportunity to be at their best.
